Dewey, OK - Morton Buildings was privileged to work with ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to build a horse barn for an amazing Oklahoma family. Danna White and her five children were chosen for the home makeover scheduled to air on ABC Sunday, March 12, starting at 7/6 central.

Last April, Danna and her family experienced the sudden loss of a husband and father. Pastor John White was a minister at a local Baptist church in Dewey, Oklahoma; the heart attack that he suffered quickly took him away from his family. After he was gone, the family had to leave the parsonage and ended up moving into a trailer without power, hot water, a shower, heat, carpet or working locks. The structure was located on land Danna White was able to purchase with money from John's life insurance policy.

Morton Buildings was contacted and offered the opportunity to join with ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to construct a horse barn for the Danna White family. The wheels were set in motion for Morton Buildings to take part in a project that would help to transform this family's life. Morton was given one week to coordinate materials and workers to start and complete the horse barn by the prescribed deadline.

The Morton crew arrived on site the morning of January 24; the deadline for completion of the building was Saturday morning, January 28. With everyone working diligently, the barn was completed, ahead of the deadline, midday on Thursday, January 26! Morton personnel continued to participate in the project by assisting with landscaping and general labor tasks. The horse barn was a success, and Jewel, a horse donated to the Danna White family, was ready to move in. Morton Buildings was honored to have the opportunity to help restore joy to this remarkable family.
