| Continuous Attic Ventilation System |

Morton Buildings continuously ventilates the attics of its structures through a combination of vented sidewall overhangs and a continuously vented ridge. Vented soffits in Morton's overhangs allow air in, while air deflectors guide the incoming air up the slopes of the roof, leaving the ceiling insulation undisturbed. Many brand "X" insulation systems result in large amounts of summer heat transfer and winter heat loss through the ceiling. This inefficiency occurs because of improperly ventilated attics, or in the case of all steel structures, no attic at all. In the summer, Morton Buildings' attic ventilation system reduces heat buildup which means a cooler environment for you on those hot summer days. In steel framed structures, the roof purlins compress the insulation batts, causing heat to be conducted directly into the buildings' interior. This inefficient system results in higher cooling bills and an uncomfortable interior. |

In the winter, the warm air rises, causing moisture to condense on the structure's steel roof panels. Condensation drips onto the insulation, saturating it. This moisture decreases the insulation's effectiveness and stated R - value. You won't have this problem in a Morton building. Cool, dry air brought in through the soffits absorbs moisture like a sponge. This moisture laden air is then carried out through the continuously vented ridge running along the roof peak, leaving your building comfortable and dry. Control the climate in your building with Morton's attic ventilation system, and discover the distinct advantage of owning a Morton building today. |
