Be prepared for the consequences if you choose a brand "X" builder that uses steel screws as fasteners. The screws, even those that are painted, become gouged and stripped when fastened. Because steel oxidizes when exposed to air and water, it is not a practical choice for a fastener, especially on roof panels. Many brand "X" builders fasten steel panels on the flat surface, rather than on the Hi-Rib, putting the screw in the path of flowing water. Steel screws rust quicker when this is done and are more susceptible to leaks. Morton's nails are double dipped in zinc galvanizing for maximum protection against rust. The EPDM polymer washer forms a seal between the fastener and steel, keeping water out. These washers are highly resistant to deterioration by ultra-violet rays and remain flexible when exposed to extreme heat and cold. Choose Morton Buildings' galvanized nail fastening system, and discover the distinct advantage of owning a Morton building today. |
