"Once we moved into the building, the real test on the energy efficiency of the building would come in the hot Mississippi summer. We were expecting good things, but not what we got. The first summer we had no utility bill that exceeded $150. And this is for over 8,600 square feet. Now, since then our church has grown considerably. This past summer (during July and August) we were using our building five days a week, so the air conditioning was running constantly through a very hot summer, and still, the highest bill that we had was under $250. And people just can't believe it. In fact, the utility company came out and changed our meter one time because they thought they were getting a bad reading on the building."
