Morton even has his own personalized doggie door topped with a Morton Buildings gable sign. "It leads into our main office," says Bruce, " so when he wants to get away from the kids, he can walk in there and lay down."

Both employees and customers enjoy the dog's company. Bruce laughs, "It's funny because you could be having a stressful day and all of a sudden you just look at that basset hound, and he'll do something that will just crack you up. Kind of puts a smile on your face... He's spoiled rotten. Everybody that comes in here pets that basset hound. He's a lot of fun, and he makes people smile. That's one reason we did it."

Morton works unselfishly every day just to brighten everyone's lives. Seldom do others think of the problem that Morton deals with daily. Bruce tells the tragedy, "His ears are so long, that when he walks up the steps, he steps on the front of his ears and trips himself." Oh, to have a dog's life...
