Industrial
The owner of General Safety Equipment needed a building to test fire apparatus pumper trucks. This 60’x50’ building is a perfect fit because it provides the flexibility needed for testing and the efficiency the owner was looking for. The facility’s Energy Performer® insulation system, in addition to an extensive exhaust system, allows testers to comfortably work inside the building even in inclement weather. The building also includes an under floor water reservoir with an opening which is utilized during testing. This building was added-on to the end wall of an existing Morton building. Best Engineering Award
This project consists of five individual buildings: 66’x150’, 66’x48’, 42’x48’, 36’x10’ and 78’x96’. The owner was drawn to Morton because of the flexibility and efficiency of post-frame buildings. In this shelter, dogs and cats are completely separated, which is a big plus for many pet owners. There are also rooms for adoption, isolation, surgery, grooming, examination and staff. The interior features Morton’s acoustical steel and flat roof trusses with a rubber membrane roof throughout much of the building. This roof style, with interior drainage, minimizes the buildings footprint and overall size of the site required.
