Opportunity Description:

The Sales Consultant opportunity is a full time position that offers the freedom to make your own schedule while working with the premier leader in the post frame construction industry. Sales Consultants are responsible for a territory that varies in size across the U.S. depending upon population, but not too large so that you can still return home at night.

In order to generate customer leads and future business, every Sales Consultant is responsible for local advertising and marketing in their territory to inform potential customers of Morton Buildings' products. The company will compliment these efforts with national advertising and marketing from our corporate headquarters.

All Consultants will be required to go through an extensive training program in which the individual will be exposed to the methods / techniques of sales and construction management.

The Consultant arranges and conducts meetings with the potential customer to evaluate their initial needs and desires, while working with a support team of professionals from their local construction center and the corporate headquarters.

Working together, these individuals will compile a plan that will meet or exceed the customers’ needs today and in the future for their building project. Acting as a liaison between the customer and Morton’s corporate offices, the Consultant will complete all contractual paperwork between the customer, the company and the subcontracting team. Once the building project has been approved and all parties are in agreement, the Consultant will oversee the project during the construction process and through the warranty period.

Advancement and expansion opportunities exist for Sales Consultants including positions as Construction Center Manager, Regional Sales Manager, or corporate level management. If you desire to become the premier builder in your territory in just a few short years, we need enthusiastic, energetic individuals with positive hard working “customer first” attitudes.

In summary, a Morton Sales Consultant is involved from the start to finish of the customer’s building experience which involves, marketing, design, sales, management of the building process and completion of the project.

Opportunity Requirements:

  • Minimum of associates degree or 5 years of construction, selling or customer service experience
  • Preferred degree in Business, Communication, or Construction Administration
  • Ability to exhibit conflict resolution and think on your feet capabilities
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational, multi tasking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality
  • Self motivation, high energy work ethic and integrity is a must
  • Team player and work well with others
  • Must have intermediate or better computer skills
  • Minimal overnight travel required
  • Regular attendance required
