Opportunity Description:
The R&D Engineer works under the direct supervision and responsible charge of Morton Buildings’ Engineering / Research & Development Manager. The R&D Engineer provides new product research and development, new equipment and processes, beneficial technology and process improvement while setting new industry standards for excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop products with service integrity and reliability, with 100% regulatory compliance in support of corporate value and risk objectives
- Research and/or develop new products being used in our construction
- Utilize and employ engineering techniques and methods while working with our manufacturing facilities to develop equipment and processes enabling the production of higher quality products more efficiently
- Utilize and employ engineering techniques and methods while working with our construction crews to develop equipment enabling the quicker, safer, more efficient construction of our buildings
- Provide proactive product and process enhancements to enable Morton Buildings to provide our customer with a unique product that exceeds expectations for quality, performance, suitability for purpose and value
- Develop and implement design procedures and methods for construction personnel
- Employ value engineering analysis techniques to create and enhance cost effective and efficient project designs
Opportunity Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills; ability to manage priorities, workflow and time; strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diversity of individuals at all levels of the organization
- Ability to maintain a positive work environment and willingness to work with enthusiasm with constantly changing priorities; flexible work schedule, working independently at times, and/or as a member of teams and committees.
- Must be highly motivated, a self starter, able to work independently and thrive on meeting deadlines.

The opportunity is located at the Morton Buildings Corporate Offices in Morton, IL. The town of Morton, IL is approx. 18,000 people and is located just 6 miles from Peoria.
